On August 14, 2023, Metropolitan Pavel of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl, Viceroy of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, was hospitalized in one of the capital’s hospitals. There he underwent surgery, Nikita Chekman reports on his Telegram page.

“Metropolitan Pavel was urgently hospitalized today in the cardiology department of one of the hospitals in Kyiv, and a surgical intervention was performed,” the lawyer wrote.
