Security Service of Ukraine searches deputy head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Department of External Affairs

On April 12, 2024, the Security Service of Ukraine initiated searches at the deputy head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Mykola Danilevich. The priest is accused that in 2017 he, as part of a delegation of the UOC, went to Istanbul to dissuade Patriarch Bartholomew from the idea of recognizing and presenting autocephaly to the former UOC-KP and UAOC, later merged into the OCU. About it reports RBC-Ukraine.

“As the source notes, Danilevich distinguished himself by the fact that in 2017, together with former MP Vadim Novinsky, was part of the delegation that persuaded Patriarch Bartholomew not to give the tomos to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Among other things, Danilevich supported the “Russian world” and justified the aggression of the terrorist country”, – reports the edition.

Earlier, Archpriest Mykola Danielevych, criticizing the bill No. 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the UOC, noted that the media initiated a new information attack on the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada regarding the need to ban the UOC by certain forces.
