People’s deputy demands to take away the cathedral from one of the dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Volyn

An MP of the “For the Future” party, Ihor Guz, said that he had collected signatures in the Verkhovna Rada in favor of the state not renewing the agreement on the use of the ancient Holy Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr-Volynskyy with the local Volodymyr-Volynskyy diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Recall that the complex of buildings includes, in addition to the Church of the Assumption, the premises of the diocesan office and Vladimir-Volynsk theological school. About this Igor Guz wrote in his Facebook account.

“21 people’s deputies supported my appeal to prevent the extension of the lease of the Uspensky Cathedral of the Assumption in Vladimir! The appeal with the signatures of MPs was sent to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, as well as, and especially, to the Head of the Volyn Regional Military Administration Yuriy Pogulyayko, who has long been noticed in lobbying for the interests of the UUP in Volyn. So to speak, to remind him that there is a war with Russia in the country, and the mp is the arm of the Russian Church in Ukraine,” – wrote Guz.

We shall remind you that earlier we reported that a member of the Volyn regional council from the nationalist party VO Svoboda, Anatoliy Vitiv, demanded that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church seize the complex of churches and premises of the Zimnyensky nunnery from the ownership of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
