Unknown attackers have taken possession of the accounts of Metropolitan of Berdyansk and Primorsky Ephrem, the administrator of the Berdyansk diocese of the UOC. The bishop’s accounts are being used to obtain confidential information, the UOJ reported citing sources.

“The messages that come to contacts on behalf of Metropolitan Ephrem are composed according to all the rules of church protocol, and are written in such a way as to give the impression that they were written by a hierarch. Attackers posing as a hierarch of the UOC are trying to find out information that can be used to the detriment of the Church. As we managed to find out, the metropolitan’s accounts have been hacked”, – the statement said.

It should be noted that the situation with the hacking of accounts and e-mail accounts of hierarchs of the UOC, recently, happens very often. Recently we reported that on January 12, 2024, attackers hacked into the Facebook page of the Zaporizhzhya diocese of the UOC and posted a fake publication of a provocative nature.
