In the Rivne region, local authorities banned the religious procession to Pochaev

The Rivne Regional Military Administration banned religious processions in the region from 19 to 25 August. It is reported by the First Kazatsky with reference to the page of the chairman of the RMA Vitaliy Koval in Telegram.

“Because of the threat to state security, they supported the ban on holding mass religious events in the Rivne region in the form of processions and demonstrations (the so-called” religious procession “) from August 19 to 25,” Koval said.

The ban falls precisely at the time when thousands of Orthodox Ukrainians make a pilgrimage to the Pochaev Lavra to celebrate the feast of the Assumption of the Mother of God there.

It is noteworthy that earlier a similar decision was made by the Ternopil RMA. It is obvious that this ban is aimed precisely at the believers of the UOC, because during this summer the Greek Catholics calmly carried out their pilgrimage to Zarvanitsa and the pilgrimage to the village of Krylos. None of the representatives of the authorities or the security forces interfered with them.

“But the Orthodox were forbidden to pray and honor the Mother of God with this feat. This was called a threat to “state security,” the message says.
