An odious representative of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Mykhaylo Zinkevych, does not believe that the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra, located on the territory of Ternopil Region, is a shrine of the Ukrainian people. He said this during the conference “Pochaev Lavra and its influence on the formation of Ukrainian Orthodox identity”, writes “Spiritual Greatness of Lviv”.

“First of all, we must affirm ourselves – because we do not believe ourselves that Pochaev Lavra is a shrine of the Ukrainian people, does not believe in this and the authorities, because I do not see any special concrete actions concerning Pochaev Lavra”, – said Zinkevich.

In addition, the head of the Volyn diocese accused the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of delaying the adoption of the law on the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

“As it turns out, a few days ago they said that to ban the activities of the Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of Ukraine – while we wait, there are not enough votes. So something servants do not serve the Ukrainian people if there are no votes for the interests of the Ukrainian people”, – Zinkevich was indignant.

“This is our sanctuary – and therefore away the Moscow priest from Pochaev Lavra”, – summarized his speech Zinkevich.
