OCU community in Rivne region evicts UOC priest’s family from their home

In the village of Pochapki “priest” of the OCU moved into the church house, where a priest of the UOC with his family lives, without giving time for eviction. About it reports the press service of the Rivne diocese of the UOC.

It is noted that this week “the community of the OCU of the village Pochapki Ostrozhsky district together with its rector moved into the church house, in which together with his family lived a priest of the UOC. Also in this house the religious community of the UOC prayed after the supporters of the OCU held a vote and carried out the so-called transition.”

“My family and I have been living in this house for more than ten years, we keep a household, I am a beekeeper. Preliminary after the court, which the OCU community won, we had an agreement that we would move as soon as the heating season ends. However, they brazenly broke into our house, not giving us the opportunity to gather, and put a “priest” of the OCU together with us”, – said Archpriest Andriy Yurchuk, rector of the Holy Cross-Vozdvizhensky parish of the UOC.

“Priest” of the OCU accommodated in the room where the faithful of the UOC prayed for more than a year. The family of Father Andrew Yurchuk has nowhere to move out yet, so she is forced to share a house with an uninvited guest.

“We share a common kitchen and a bathroom. Can you imagine? We made repairs in this house, took care of it. Now we are forced to leave, but we have nowhere to go. Our family bought a house in the village, but it is not suitable for living. It must be repaired,” – said Father Andrew.

We will remind, earlier we wrote that in the village of Zaretsk in Rivne region representatives of the UOC and OCU communities agreed on the alternate use of the local church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
