  5. The Synod of the Romanian Church established the “Romanian Orthodox Church of Ukraine”

The Synod of the Romanian Church established the “Romanian Orthodox Church of Ukraine”

The Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church met on February 29, 2024. This is reported by the website of the Romanian Church.

One of the decisions of the Synod was the establishment of the “Romanian Orthodox Church of Ukraine” in Ukraine.

“To bless, encourage and support the initiatives of the Romanian Orthodox communities of Ukraine to restore fellowship with the mother Church, the Romanian Patriarchate, through their legal organization in a religious structure called the Romanian Orthodox Church of Ukraine”, – stated in the document.

We shall remind you that Epiphany Dumenco, while on a visit to Chernivtsi, urged the Romanian-speaking parishes in Bukovyna to transfer to the OCU and assured that they would create comfortable conditions for them there.
