In the Khmelnytsky region, mass religious events were banned, including the religious procession to the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, which is traditionally held annually in August by believers of the UOC. This is reported by the publication 0382.
The decision of the regional defense council was announced by the first deputy head of the Khmelnytsky Regional State Administration Sergey Tyurin. According to the decision, religious campaigns and demonstrations will be banned on July 27-28 and August 19-25.
“Including we are talking about a pilgrimage procession in large and small groups, in the Khmelnytsky region, on the way to the Holy Assumption Pochaev Lavra. Additionally, we also recommended that local governments carry out explanatory work in their jurisdictions on the need to strictly comply with the ban on holding such events,” – noted Sergey Tyurin.
According to him, the decision was made to prevent provocations and the use of such situations by the Russians, as well as “to preserve the life and health of our people.”
