The director of the Department of Information, Culture and Religions of the Khmelnytskyy regional state administration, Inna Mykhailova, said that the authorities had managed to “transfer” about 300 religious communities from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is reported by the news agency “KHM-INSIDE”.
“Khmelnytschina actually from the leaders in the number of UOC (MP) communities became the leader in their withdrawal from under Moscow influence. This process became very active with the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Since the beginning of the war, almost 300 religious communities have left Moscow’s influence. Of them, for example, 268 went to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and another 26 went to independent churches,” Mikhailova said.
The official added that the process of illegal re-registration in Khmelnytsky region continues. According to her, as of today Khmelnytsky regional administration is engaged in re-registration of another 30 communities of the UOC in the OCU.
We will remind, earlier we reported that Khmelnytsky regional military (state) administration refused to register the charter of the Holy Dormition religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Letichev settlement of Khmelnytsky region. The reason for the refusal is the absence of “autonomous status recognized by the local churches”.
