Church of the UOC burned down in Bukovina

On the night of April 23-24, 2023, in the village of Milievo, Vizhnytsia district, Chernivtsi region, attackers set fire to a church in honor of the Monk Job of Pochaevsky, the Information and Education Department of the UOC reports.

The Chernivtsi-Bukovina diocese notes that there are clear signs that the fire did not happen by accident, but was caused by deliberate actions. The video footage shows that the church building is engulfed in fire from all sides at the same time.

“They set fire to the temple of this night – professionally, without a chance of salvation. What kind of God’s Blessing for our land are we looking for from the Lord?” the diocese noted.

The police managed to arrest the arsonist.

The church in honor of St. Job was built in Milievo after the previous church in honor of St. Paraskeva of Serbia in 2004 was seized by supporters of the UOC-KP.
