On December 15, 2022, the head of the Orthodox Church, Epifaniy Dumenko, met at his residence with the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna. This is reported by the official website of the OCU.
Mykhailo Stefanyshyn and Head of the Service of the Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Dmitry Kaplun also took part in the meeting.
Among other things, it was about interfaith relations in Ukraine.
“We are a democratic country, therefore, by definition, we cannot have any forced unification of confessions. We are not a totalitarian Russia, in which everything is done by force, by order, regardless of the opinion and desire of the clergy and the faithful. We continue to stand firmly for the unity of the Orthodox around the throne of Kyiv. However, such unity can only be voluntary and with those who have not stained themselves with devotion to the criminal ideology of the “Russian world,” said Epifaniy.
