Orthodox Bulgarians protested against the presence of a OCU delegation led by Epifaniy Dumenko at the funeral service of the deceased Primate of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church Patriarch Neophytos. The situation occurred on March 16, 2024, during the funeral service in the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia, reports Pravblog.

It is reported that “at the moment when Dumenko, who was standing on the solea, tried to penetrate into the altar, there were cries in the temple addressed to the delegation of the “OCU”: “Sergey Dumenko, get out! Schismatics and heretics, get out!”. The corresponding video is published on the channel.

Note, earlier we reported that the hierarch of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan John of Varna and Velikopreslavl, who was elected vicar of the Synod, said that the Bulgarian Patriarchate did not invite the head of the OCU to the funeral of Patriarch Neophytos.
