A serious “wake-up call” to the Ukrainian government has rung directly from Washington. Representatives of the US Republican Party have said that one of the conditions for the allocation of a financial tranche worth 61 billion dollars is that the Ukrainian authorities refuse to interfere in the affairs of the Church. Obviously, we are talking about the UOC.

Representative of the Republican Party Marjorie Taylor Green, among other demands to the Ukrainian government, said: “No funds provided by this legislation may be used or expended until the Secretary of State submits a report to Congress confirming that Christian churches in Ukraine can operate without government interference.”

Of course, it is too early to conclude whether such pressure from the Republicans will influence the government’s intention to vote in favor of Bill 8371 aimed at banning the UOC, but it is absolutely certain that Robert Amsterdam’s activities are bearing their first serious fruit. It seems that this is why the law on the ban of the Church is still not put to a vote in the Verkhovna Rada. And certainly, it is not for nothing that the enemies of the Church are moving in the direction of the United States.
