In the near future, the law “on the ban of the UOC” will try to put on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, – Media

The Ukrainian mass media report that in the near future at the conciliation meeting the leaders of factions and groups will form the agenda for the Verkhovna Rada session, where they will try to put on the list for consideration the scandalous bill No 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. About it reports “Glavcom”.

“In the near future at the conciliation meeting leaders of factions and groups will form the agenda for the session of the Verkhovna Rada and here the key role is played by the Chairman of the faction “Servant of the people” David Arahamiya. It depends on him whether this issue will be considered when the maximum number of deputies will be in the session hall. In the first reading he supported the bill and voted in favor”, – the publication said.

In addition, it is reported that the readiness to vote in favor of the law on the ban of the UOC in the second reading expressed representatives of a number of political parties.

“This should have been done a long time ago, given the political ties of this structure with the aggressor state and its subversive activities in Ukraine. At the same time, it seems to me that on the part of the Ukrainian state this step to minimize the influence of the enemy on religious life in Ukraine should not be limited only by law. It is necessary, first, to work actively with people loyal to the UOC-MP, especially the older generation, and, second, with its clergy themselves. Because not all of them have any anti-state intentions, and not all of them are delighted with the actions and statements of their religious center in Moscow. Meanwhile, it is they who have quite a significant influence on people, and it is their opinion that some citizens reckon with. We expect that the state policy in this direction will have a much broader application than the norms of a specific bill. This should be dealt with, and dealt with systematically”, – said the head of the parliamentary group “Trust” Oleg Kulinich.

We shall remind you that earlier we reported that the head of the international human rights company “Amsterdam & Partners LLP” Robert Amsterdam, representing the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, warned Ukrainian parliamentarians about serious international consequences in case of voting in the second reading for the law № 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He wrote about this in a letter sent to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
