The Ukrainian parliament may consider draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in May this year. This was told by the deputy head of the parliamentary faction “Servant of the people” Eugenia Kravchuk, reports Gazeta.ua.

“The Committee decided on recommendations for the second reading. As far as I know, the table has not yet been published on the website, so formally we can not consider it. But, as far as I know, the head of the committee submitted a plan from the committee because always the head of the committee submits to the meeting a plan of bills that are recommended for adoption, and we in the Committee, of course, in favor of considering it,” – said Kravchuk.

Kravchuk added that she expects the law banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to be passed in May this year.

“There were calls to consider it back in April. But I think it is more realistic to do it in May. We need to prepare the hall for the vote as well. Because the “barbell” on this bill, so important, can not be simply,” – added the Deputy.

We will remind, earlier we reported that the head of the international human rights company “Amsterdam & Partners LLP” Robert Amsterdam, representing the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church said that the parliamentary majority in the Verkhovna Rada in the near future intends to vote in the second reading for the bill № 8371, aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
