Robert Amsterdam, head of the Amsterdam & Partners LLP law firm, has visited Ukraine in order to legally defend the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This is reported by the Information and Education Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
The renowned human rights activist held a series of meetings with clergy and politicians to better understand the societal and religious situation in the state.
It is noted that Amsterdam arrived in Ukraine on February 19, 2024. He met with the Primate and hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as well as with representatives of the authorities, people’s deputies of Ukraine, with representatives of the media, etc., during which he “explored the situation regarding freedom in the public and ecclesiastical environment of Ukraine”.
The lawyer spent eight days in Ukraine and left for the British capital London on February 27.
