Lavra lawyer Nikita Chekman said that lawyers of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra will now attend prayer services outside the monastery’s walls every day and respond to offenses committed against believers by opponents of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

“We are strengthening legal defense,” he said. – Every day during the prayer services there will be a lawyer who will record all violations committed by people who, on the one hand, do not realize what they are doing, and on the other hand, act deliberately, <…> mock the believers, openly mock the faith and insult the feelings of all believing people. Therefore, from our side, we ensure that these unlawful actions are fully recorded.”

This decision arose because the law enforcement agencies ignored the violations during the worship service.
