Olena Bodnar, head of the Department of Culture of the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, said that in Bukovyna from 2019, 30 communities “held meetings” and decided to change their canonical subordination from the UOC to the OCU. She said this in a comment to the ACC Media Agency.

The official added that “already during the full-scale war, 12 communities in Bukovyna changed their canonical subordination. Of these, 6 in 2022 and another 6 in 2023.”

“Now people are more conscious, they understand the importance of transition. And we help them with this, we hold consultations, meetings with citizens, provide a list of documents. In the period from one to three months the transition is carried out,” said Bodnar.
