The cases of the UOC metropolitan and two clergymen have been sent to court

The Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr region reported that the indictments against the manager and secretary of the Ovruch diocese of the UOC, as well as the rector of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin of the same diocese were sent to court.

“Based on the evidence collected by the security service and the National police under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor’s office, they are accused of committing deliberate acts aimed at inciting national and religious hatred, humiliation of national honor, dignity and insulting the feelings of citizens in connection with their religious beliefs, committed by officials and by prior conspiracy of a group of persons,” – stated in the message.

The Security Service said that for several years Metropolitan Vissarion “prepared the texts of pro-Kremlin leaflets and brochures with his own hand. In them, he insulted the religious feelings of Ukrainians, humiliated the views of supporters of other confessions and formed hostile attitudes towards them. In addition, the expert examinations confirmed that some of the ‘agitics’ were not religious at all, but political and propaganda products that imposed the ideas of ‘Russian peace’, promoted war, as well as imposed Kremlin views on Ukrainian history”.
