In the communication department of the police of Ternopil region commented on the recent events around the Epiphany convent of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Kremenets. About it reports the edition “Espreso.Zahid”.

“Ended the lease term of this nunnery real estate, which is the property of the Kremenets-Pochayev state historical and architectural reserve. The management of the reserve asked the police of Ternopil region to ensure public order during the work of the reserve’s commission on the return of the property and use of the monastery to state ownership. Now police officers ensure public safety and order during the work of the commission”, – said the deputy head of the communication department of the police of Ternopil region Andrey Vasilik.

It is known that the abbess of the monastery, Abbess Dimitria, appealed to the Ministry of Culture and the State Property Fund with a request to extend the lease agreement. However, so far the nuns have not received a response, so they do not plan to evict.
