During his visit to the Phanar, the head of the OCU Epifaniy Dumenko visited the Metropolitanate of Chalcedon Emmanuel at the invitation of Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon. About it reports the official website of the OCU.

It is noted that the meeting was also attended by Eustratius Zorya and the Secretary General of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople Archimandrite Gregory.

“We are honored to welcome Your Beatitude to the Metropolis of Chalcedon. You have recently hospitably received me in Kiev, and I am glad that here, in a sacred place closely linked to the history of Orthodoxy, we can continue our communication,” Metropolitan Emmanuel noted.

Epifaniy, in turn, thanked Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon “for his hospitality and constructive cooperation.”

“You are well acquainted with the Ukrainian ecclesiastical issue. With the blessing of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, you directly led the process of preparation for the Unification Council and its holding, and also visited Ukraine many times in the future. I am confident that your visit to Kyiv, meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, discussion of further steps to implement humanitarian and peacemaking aspects of the Ukrainian peace formula, which was discussed during the visit of the head of the Ukrainian state to the Ecumenical Patriarchate in July this year – all this will yield good results,” – said the head of the OCU.

The meeting also discussed “issues that concern the church situation in Ukraine, the interaction between the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in a bilateral format and in the context of inter-Christian and international cooperation.”
