Metropolitan Luka of Zaporozhye and Melitopol sent letters to journalists and the US media, which contain facts of persecution of the UOC and violations of the rights of its believers. Rightblog writes about it.

“It is very difficult to fight against lawlessness. However, you definitely cannot fold your hands. Each of us, as a direct part of the entire plenitude of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, must, to the best of our ability, fight for her rights and the opportunity to carry out the gospel mission without hindrance,” the bishop noted.

Metropolitan Luke said that over the past few days he has sent letters to more than 25 US journalists and media who are committed to conservative values.

“My messages contain both a description of the whole picture of the growing persecution of the UOC, as well as specific facts of violations of the rights and freedoms of our believers. I really hope that these letters will contribute to the defense of the Church, which they are now trying to direct by hook or by crook on the path betrayal of the Orthodox faith,” the hierarch stressed.
