Information has appeared that the issue of banning the UOC today in the Verkhovna Rada will not be considered. The Telegram channel About the Church and people writes about this.
“The reason is that there are not enough votes to ban. Many say that this is a formal reason that covers up some agreements between the authorities and the Church. In fact, the removal from the vote is Zelensky’s personal order,” the message says.
It is noted that yesterday, after visiting Odessa, the President of Ukraine was convinced that the ban on the UOC on July 28 would cause very negative associations and would definitely affect Zelensky’s rating. Photos of Volodymyr the Great and Volodymyr Zelensky appeared on the Web with the caption: “One baptized, and the other banned.”
“Zelensky did not abandon the idea of banning the UOC, but ordered to put this ban on pause, that is, temporarily postpone it. The Verkhovna Rada will return to him in the near future. In turn, His Beatitude was given to understand that this pause is a concession to which the authorities went in anticipation of the “right” decision,” the publication says.
