In Neteshyn, OCU supporters seized a UOC church and mocked priests and believers

July 9, 2023 aggressive supporters of the OCU seized the cathedral in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Neopalimaya Kupina” in the city of Neteshyn. About it reports the Information and educational Department of the UOC.

“In the cathedral a group of raiders came during the Divine Liturgy. After the end of the service, the rector of the temple Archpriest Victor Tyshkun and the clergy of the cathedral tried to establish a constructive dialog with the activists, but the latter constantly shouted offensive slogans and mocked the Orthodox clergy and believers”, – stated in the message.

Aggressive activists in the temple shouted, clapped their hands, pushed and used physical force against the parishioners of the cathedral. All this happened with the direct participation and assistance of the General Director of Khmelnytsky NPP Andriy Koziura, local authorities and the so-called clerics of the OCU.

In addition, when the priests showed the activists the Ukrainian flag, which the AFU servicemen from Bakhmut had given to the parishioners of the cathedral in gratitude for prayer and humanitarian support, the OCU cleric “archimandrite” Vladyslav stated that since this flag was signed by soldiers from Transcarpathia, it was “not Ukrainian, but Little Russian”.

During these events, the police were present in the temple, whose officers had earlier assured the clerics of the cathedral that they would protect the constitutional rights of citizens. however, in reality, the law enforcers actually assisted the activists in their illegal actions.
