On the night of July 6-7, 2023 unknown persons committed an act of vandalism near the Holy Spring in the village of Budyatichi in Volyn region. About it reports the Information and educational Department of the UOC with reference to social networks.

“As a result of the incident was burned wonderworking icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary “Budyatichivska”, prayer, which was attached nearby, as well as destroyed the front door of the chapel, which is located on the territory near the source,” – stated in the message.

In Vladimir-Volyn diocese note that cases of abuse of the shrine have happened before. In particular, intruders broke windows in the chapel and committed other sacrilegious acts.
