Another court session was held on the transfer of the Kremenets Nikolaev Cathedral to the ownership of the state

On June 5, 2023, a court session was held on the claim of the Kremenets-Pochaev State Historical and Architectural Reserve against the Religious Community “The Parish of St. Nicholas” of the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the Ternopil-Kremenets Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the obligation to take actions, in which the court opened the consideration of the case on the merits. This was reported on the website of the Economic Court of the Ternopil region.

Representatives of the UOC asked the judge to recuse himself in the case of the return of property to the Kremenets Reserve, because they believe that he has an adherence to the OCU or other confessions. However, the court found this statement unfounded.

The plaintiff’s application to correct a typographical error in the defendant’s name was granted. Now the correct name of the defendant in this case is “The Religious Community “The Parish of St. Nicholas” of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Kremenets, Kremenets District of the Ternopil Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.” The court granted the defendant’s application for the termination of the powers of one of the defendant’s representatives.

The court adjourned the hearing on the case to June 12, 2023.
