The lawyers of Metropolitan Pavel (Lebed), in an interview with Glavkom, said that the bishop is now systematically turning to doctors, because he has health problems, in particular, diabetes.

They added that doctors were coming to the metropolitan because the investigator had granted permission for a medical examination.

Lawyers also said that, as lawyers, they can freely visit him, but “there are negative aspects.”

“Operatives are constantly on duty near the bishop’s house in Voronkovo, they sit in vehicles and record everyone who comes to him. Then people who visited Bishop Pavel are summoned for interrogations,” the defenders said.

Lawyer Nikita Chekman added that Metropolitan Pavel has been leading the monastery for 30 years, he has priests, spiritual children, friends who “value communication with him and come to him. And then they are called to the SSU. This is pressure.”
