German Bundestag deputy and member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Europe Harald Weill, in an interview with Deutschland-Kurier, called on the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to investigate the actions of the Ukrainian authorities against the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Pravblog reports.

“I demand that the Council of Europe begin monitoring this development,” he said.

The deputy listed the cases of destruction of churches and desecration of shrines known to him, attempts to interfere with the conduct of worship. He stressed that these actions are incompatible with Kyiv’s intentions to join the European Union.
