The city council of Kropyvnytskyi considered a petition to ban activities on the territory of the city of the UOC. The head of the communication department, Oksana Gorbenko, noted at a meeting of the commission that such actions do not fall within the powers of local governments. It is reported by Suspіlne.
The official took as a basis the explanations regarding the ban on the UOC in the communities of the head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience Viktor Yelensky.
“The legislation provides for two ways to terminate the activities of a religious community: through a court order or by decision of the community itself based on the results of the general meeting,” Oksana Gorbenko said.
