On April 4, 2023, the Council of Bishops of the Polish Orthodox Church was held. This is reported by the official website of the PAOC.
At the Council, in particular, it was noted that recently more and more negative information regarding the Polish Orthodox Church has been circulating in the media space of Poland.
“This destabilizing activity, aimed at the marginalization and degradation of church life, serves to weaken Orthodoxy. This information is a deliberate and malicious act,” the final document of the Council says.
The Council of Bishops called on the fullness of the Orthodox Church in Poland – the clergy and the faithful – to unity and prayerful vigilance.
The Holy Council of Bishops of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church also expressed regret over the division of world Orthodoxy, aggravated by the current situation with Orthodoxy in Ukraine.
“The Holy Council reaffirms its position on convening a meeting of the heads of the Local Orthodox Churches in order to eliminate division. Taking into account the destructive reality that has developed in the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, the Holy Council of Bishops of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church supports all previous resolutions.”
