The Ministry of Culture is not considering the transfer of the OCU of the Refectory Church and the Assumption Cathedral of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra for a long-term lease since the denominations will not be able to provide their financial maintenance. This was stated by Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

“Such periodical services inspire believers. <…> But far from always religious organizations can pull it (Lavra, – Ed.) from a financial point of view, ”he said.
