On January 25, 2023, the head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, announced that his structure was ready for dialogue with the Catholic Church, the OCU website reports.
Dumenko, accompanied by Evstratiy Zorya, met in Rome with the prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, RCC Cardinal Kurt Koch.
“We are following developments closely. During our meetings, both Patriarch Bartholomew and Metropolitan Emmanuel, who, as I know, also did a lot for the Ukrainian Church, told us about them,” Koch assured the head of the OCU.
In turn, Epifaniy stated that the OCU, “as one of the Local Churches,” is ready to participate in the Orthodox-Catholic dialogue.
