A briefing on the situation around the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was held at the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra

On December 15, 2022, a press conference of the UOC was held in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra regarding the scandalous broadcast of the 95th quarter program, where comedians allowed themselves blasphemous jokes about God and the clergy of the Church, as well as the situation that has developed around the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the recent period – anti-church bills that try to violate the rights and freedoms of millions of believers of the UOC and even ban the largest confession in Ukraine; searches by the SBU and the negative information campaign that accompanies them, and the like. This was reported by the Information and Ecucational Department of the UOC.

Details of these processes, about the reaction of the Church to such oppression in the legal field, about how such a religious policy of the State in relation to the current government of the international community, in particular, Christians around the world, was told by the participants of the briefing: Bishop of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia Nikita, Chairman Archpriest Alexander Bakhov of the Legal Department of the UOC, Archpriest Alexander Klimenko, religious scholar Yuriy Reshetnikov and Dean of Spain and Portugal of the Patriarchate of Constantinople Archpriest Tarasy Petrunyak. The briefing was moderated by Archpriest Sergiy Yushchik.

Representatives of the UOC also answered questions.
