The war made the procession of the UOC in Kyiv on the Day of the Baptism of Rus impossible

On the day of the Baptism of Rus and on the day of memory of Equal-to-the-Apostles Grand Prince Volodymyr, July 28, the UOC will hold a festive Liturgy at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and there will be no traditional procession and prayer service on Volodymyr Hill. This was stated by Bishop Viktor (Kotsaba), the UOC Information Center reports.

“We live under martial law, so any mass gathering is limited. The celebration will take place in the following way: the Divine Liturgy will be served in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, which will be led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, followed by a thanksgiving prayer service, which will also take place in the Lavra,” lord Viktor explained.

Earlier it was reported that according to the decision of the Verkhovna Rada on July 28 in Ukraine there will be a holiday – the Day of Ukrainian Statehood.

Traditionally, on the Day of the Baptism of Rus, the crowded religious processions of the UOC clearly showed which denomination in Ukraine is really the most numerous.
