The Rivne diocese denied the fakes of the local media about the attack on the radicals who tried to disrupt the procession of the UOC

The Rivne diocese published an official comment in connection with the fakes of the local media that the radicals who tried to disrupt the automobile procession from the church of St. George’s Compound Rivne to the skete of St. Onishkovtsy, Rivne region, were attacked by members of the Orthodox association “Charakternik”.

In the local media, there were publications with information from “eyewitnesses” that the picketers, who intended to interfere with the procession, were attacked by some “men in unmarked balaclavas”, allegedly “the military unit of the Moscow Patriarchate Kharakternik”.

The Rivne diocese in response stated that the media had spread false information about the Orthodox public formation “Charakternik”: “We officially declare! The Rivne diocese of the UOC has nothing to do with people in masks engaged in provocative actions during a prayer service before a car procession with shrines. Law enforcement agencies should deal with the identification of masked people. We ask the media to objectively cover the information without speculation and conjecture, referring to official sources and comments.”

Recall that on June 19, an automobile religious procession with shrines set off from the St. Right-wing radicals gathered to interfere with the believers of the UOC, but did not dare to carry out their intention, writes the press service of the Rivne diocese of the UOC.
