Moldova approved the Istanbul Convention

The Parliament of Moldova in the final reading ratified the Istanbul Convention on October 14, 2021. The appeal of the Moldovan Orthodox Church to the legislative assembly of the state with an appeal not to sign the scandalous document was ignored by the parliamentary majority, writes Pravlife.

Earlier, the Church of Moldova opposed the ratification of the Council of Europe convention, which, under the pretext of combating domestic violence, promotes norms that blur the concept of gender, contradict the traditional values of the family, and infringe on the national foundations and culture of the people.

The address to the President of the country Maya Sandu, the parliament and the government of the republic was signed on October 6, 2021 by the Metropolitan of Chisinau and All Moldova, Vladimir.
