On June 18, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy registered draft law No. 157 “On Ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence” in the Parliament of Ukraine.

The ratification of the Istanbul Convention, as noted in the explanation, is a step towards protecting Ukrainians from domestic and gender-based violence.
