On August 12, the head of the PCU Epiphanius Dumenko went to Fr. Imvros (Turkey) on the occasion of celebrating the 60th anniversary of the ordination of Patriarch Bartholomew as a deacon, according to the organization’s website.
On the morning of August 13, the solemn liturgy on the occasion of the anniversary will be celebrated by Patriarch Bartholomew, Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria, Epiphanius, and hierarchs – representatives of the Cypriot and Hellenic Churches.
Recall that Patriarch Bartholomew will meet the memorable date only surrounded by the Patriarch of Alexandria and the head of the OCU. The primates of the Greek and Cypriot Churches will also not come in person, sending their representatives. The Primate of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, Patriarch Theophilus, who received an offer to attend the celebrations orally, declined the mentioned invitation from Patriarch Bartholomew, citing the situation with the pandemic.
