The Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, held at the Holy Pantheleimonov Monastery of the UOC in Theophany, decided to inform the local Orthodox Churches and the international community about the violation of the rights of the UOC believers. About it reports the website of the UOC.
“At the meeting of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was considered the issue of the current state of observance of the rights to freedom of religion of believers and religious organizations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In connection with their violation, the Synod decided to inform the Local Orthodox Churches, foreign countries and international human rights organizations on this issue,” – the statement said.
We will remind, earlier the head of the international human rights company “Amsterdam & Partners LLP” Robert Amsterdam, representing the legal interests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, recorded a video message on the persecution of clergy and believers of the UOC. The human rights activist called on the Ukrainian government to refuse to adopt the discriminatory bill No. 8371, calling it divisive to “the population of Ukraine.”
