Archbishop Theodosius of Sevastia called on international human rights organizations to condemn the persecution of the UOC

The hierarch of the Church of Jerusalem, Archbishop Theodosius of Sevastia, has said that in the context of recent events, Jerusalem considers it “offensive and sad” that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is being persecuted and oppressed by state structures, despite all appeals and appeals that have been made. Vladyka noted that the persecution of bishops and priests continues, not to mention the illegal seizure of monasteries and churches, as well as attempts to pressure the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. In particular, Metropolitan Theodosius of Cherkasy and Kanev is being persecuted.

“We express our rejection and condemnation of this unjustified, irresponsible and unreasonable persecution faced by the Orthodox Church in Ukraine,” Archbishop Theodosius emphasized.

The bishop called on international human rights organizations “to take measures to stop this unacceptable persecution, in terms of human rights, spiritual, social and moral aspect”.
