The parish of the UOC of Lutsk, which converted to the OCU, lost a significant number of parishioners

The parish of the church in honor of St. Mary Magdalene in Lutsk, whose rector, Oleksandr Kolb, recently announced his conversion to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, has lost a significant number of parishioners. This is reported by “Volynska news service” with reference to the story of “Channel 12”.

Two weeks after the vote for the transition to the PCU, Alexander Kolb and parishioners who supported his decision, began to complain that a significant number of people left the parish. “Very many with us (“from us”, – ed.) disconnected women, but we think that they will still come back, they will understand the depth of this process”, – says one of the parishioners Natalia.

In turn, the former priest of the UOC Alexander Kolb, states that he campaigned for the transition to the PCU back in January this year, but when it came time to vote – “the human factor worked.”

“The overwhelming majority said that yes, yes, we need to leave the UOC, we need to do something, we need to restore, especially emphasized that it is necessary to resume Eucharistic communion with the Ecumenical Patriarch. If you do so, we will go together with you. This is what 99% of all parishioners said in private conversations. And when I started to act, for some reason such a human factor worked”, – Kolb complained.

At the same time, as reported in the story, Alexander Kolb refused to say exactly how many parishioners stopped going to the Church of Mary Magdalene. According to him, he is sure that many of them, or even all of them, will soon return.
