In Nadvornaya in Ivano-Frankivsk region, local residents voted to stop the activities of the religious community of St. George the Great Martyr of the UOC. This is reported by “Espresso.West”.
49 residents of the city voted for banning the activities of the community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the territory of the city during the public hearings held on October 13.
“We did everything to ensure that on the territory of our community for 15 years they did not have their religious building, did not have a church. But, unfortunately, the regional justice department, state authorities have registered a legal entity – the ROC. We are doing everything to comply with the procedure, so that later this decision will not be appealed”, – said Mayor Zinoviy Andreevich.
It should be noted that as of 2022, the population of the city of Nadvornaya in Ivano-Frankivsk region was 22522 people. That is, the decision to ban the religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was made by 0.2% of the total number of residents of the city.
