Poturaev explained why some MPs do not vote for the ban of the UOC

People’s Deputy Nikita Poturaev on air of the TV channel “Espresso” told why some deputies in the Verkhovna Rada are not ready to vote for the ban of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

He believes that in Parliament there are “agents of influence of a particular Church”.

“In my opinion, there were and are people who remain loyal to one church. This applies to the parliament as well. Also in Parliament there are people about whom it can be said that they are ill-informed. After all, they believe that the adoption of laws to ban the activities of the UOC-MP may violate the principle of non-interference of the state in the activities of churches and other religious organizations”, – said the MP.

Poturaev also added that in Parliament “there are all chances to collect votes” for the adoption of the law on the ban of the UOC-MP: “I want to emphasize that the minimum number of votes for this law is 226. And this number of votes is the direct responsibility of the leaders of all factions and groups.”
