Sociologist Slobodan Antonich said at a press conference in defense of the UOC shrines and believers that if the model of destroying the Ukrainian Orthodox Church proves successful, they will try to implement a similar model with regard to the Serbian Church. Pravblog writes about it.

According to Antonich, what is happening now with the UOC represents a direct and blatant restriction of human freedom.

“We are talking about such a gross violation of fundamental human rights that it is simply amazing how one can keep a sepulchral silence. Especially at the level of those organizations that constantly talk about human rights. The Ukrainian authorities, including through the Ministry of Culture, are persecuting the UOC, in particular the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, in flagrant violation of the universally recognized rights of believers and religious organizations. The goal is clear – the liquidation of the UOC,” the scientist said.

Slobodan Antonich noted that what is happening in the religious sphere of Ukraine is a real systematic state terror, which leads to the destruction of the UOC under the pretext of fighting Russia.

.”I will repeat my thought. What is alarming in this matter is, first of all, the silence of various international organizations and institutions that are engaged in the protection of human rights. The appeal was addressed to them. Secondly, it is also alarming that, from our local point of view, if the model of defeating a particular Church and seizing its property is successfully implemented, in the future in our region we will have to deal with the creation of the Kosovo, Croatian, Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Montenegrin Orthodox Churches. Churches based on the same model of defeat that can be realized with regard to the Serbian Church”, – emphasized the sociologist.
