A police report has been filed against the activists who disrupted services near Lavra

As reported by lawyer Nikita Chekman on his page in Telegram, a corresponding statement was filed with the police on the activists who prevented the worship service near the walls of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.

“13.09.2023 during the divine service of the clergy of the Holy Assumption Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and other clerics near the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh on Lavrska street in Kiev in the period from 18:25 h. to 19:20 h. a group of unidentified persons under the direction of a person calling himself in social networks as “Mag Veliar”, carried out insults to clergymen and parishioners, insulted the religious views of parishioners, loudly turned on megaphones, directing them to the ears of citizens, with calls denigrating the religious beliefs of citizens and the Church”, – said the lawyer.

Nikita Chekman said that a police squad was called to the place of the incident and filed the appropriate statement on the fact of the said criminal offense.

“Currently from the Pechersk UP of the Main Department of the police Department in Kiev is expected to enter information into the Unified register of pre-trial investigations in accordance with Art. 214 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine on the grounds of a criminal offense under part 1 of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine”, – said the lawyer.

He also added that the activists could face up to two years in prison because of this offense.
