On the fact of deliberate arson of the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Khalyavin in Chernihiv region, a pre-trial investigation was launched. About it reports the Information and educational Department of the UOC with reference to “Suspilne Chernihiv”.

“Information about this event is entered in the unified register of pre-trial investigations. On this fact there is a pre-trial investigation under part 2 of article 194 of the Criminal code of Ukraine. This is a deliberate destruction or damage to property by arson. Such actions are punishable by imprisonment for a term of 3 to 10 years”, – said the representative of the Main Department of the National police in Chernihiv region Natalia Slabenyak.

We will remind, on the night from 20 to 21 August 2023 as a result of arson burned Holy Trinity Church in Chernihiv district. The fire destroyed the bell tower, burned four modern bells, recently purchased at the expense of the community, and an ancient pre-revolutionary bell. The roof of the church on the area of 80 square meters, the ceiling on the area of 20 square meters and structural elements of the walls were damaged.
