On August 17, 2023, on the day of the ninth anniversary of the enthronement of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Porfiry sent a congratulation to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

“Your Beatitude, our dear brother and co-server in Christ, on behalf of the fullness of the Serbian Orthodox Church and on my own behalf, allow me to convey to you sincere congratulations on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the accession to the Throne of the Primates of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” the congratulation says.

Patriarch Porfiry noted that the service of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry exudes Christlikeness, devotion and concern for the salvation of people.

“Archipastoral dignity as a grace gift of the Holy Spirit presupposes the highest service in the Church, which, following the example of Archpastor Christ, is paradoxical for the world, but for us Orthodox, naturally, it manifests itself through service to others. Your service to Christ, the hierarchy entrusted to you and the flock radiates just such Christlikeness, devotion and concern for the salvation of the people whom you prayerfully take care of,” said the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Patriarch Porfiry assured that “with brotherly love and hope in Christ, we pray that the subsequent years of your service to God and the people will be years of peace, blessing and development.”
