Kirill Hovorun in an interview with the Glavkom publication answered, in particular, the question about which of the representatives of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has a Russian passport.
“I know that Metropolitan Anthony Pakanich had one when he worked at the Moscow Theological Academy. But I’m not the passport office”, – Govorun said.
When asked if His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry and Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich had a Russian passport, the former ROC cleric said he did not know.
“I personally have always had only Ukrainian. No one offered or imposed on me to obtain Russian citizenship in Moscow, although if I wanted it, I could easily have gotten it. The general rule was: if you want to get Russian citizenship – please, and if you don’t want, no one forces you”, – emphasized Kirill Hovorun.
