On August 17, 2023, His Beatitude Archbishop Tikhon of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada conveyed congratulations on the ninth anniversary of enthronement and the icon of the heavenly patron of the Orthodox in the United States to His Beatitude Onuphry, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. To congratulate His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry on the anniversary of his enthronement Archpriest Alexander Rentel, OCA manager of affairs, and Archpriest Nazariy Polataiko, rector of the Cathedral in honor of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos “The Finding of the Lost” in Los Angeles, arrived.

“Your Beatitude, dear brother and co-servant in the Sacraments of the Lord, I congratulate Your Beatitude on the anniversary of your enthronement as the Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine and send you my heartfelt congratulations,” His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon conveyed the words of greeting during the festive divine service in Kiev-Pechersk Lavre Administrator of the Orthodox Church in America.

From the fullness of the Orthodox Church in America, the clergyman, as a gift to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry, presented an icon of the patron saint of all North America and the heavenly patron of the Orthodox in the United States, the Reverend Father Herman of Alaska, an elder, a miracle worker.

“For a long time I assure Your Beatitude in my fraternal prayers for your primatial ministry. The faithful of the Orthodox Church in America embrace the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the entire Ukrainian people with their prayers and labors. Now, as a sign of our brotherhood in the Spirit and unity in Christ, I give you this icon of our beloved Saint Herman Just as he was an unshakable protector and a bright northern star for the Orthodox Church in America, may he become a faithful and unrelenting patron and prayer guide for Your Beatitude, for Your Throne of Kiev and all Ukraine, for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and for the Ukrainian nation and the people,” the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America said in a congratulatory message.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon assured His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of constant prayer support: “The clergy and faithful of my flock are praying for you, for your Church and your people.”
